Bighorn Precision is Brad Hanson. One builder, one shop, Powell, Wyoming. When you contact Bighorn Precision, you reach Brad. When your rifle is being built, Brad is at the bench. There are no employees handling your build, no wondering who actually did the work.
That level of accountability is rare in the custom rifle industry. Most shops grow, hire, and eventually the builder you hired is managing other people instead of building your rifle. Bighorn Precision is intentionally structured to prevent that. The shop stays small so the quality stays consistent.
Brad holds an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Gunsmithing from the Colorado School of Trades - where he graduated with honors. He is an FFL-licensed gunsmith and a certified Cerakote applicator. That combination of formal education and hands-on certification is not common in a one-person shop.
The focus is precision bolt-action rifle building for hunters and competitors. Four package levels let customers choose the right build for their purpose and budget - from a well-assembled field rifle to a full custom with a 1/2 MOA accuracy guarantee. Every build is test-fired and documented before it leaves the shop.
Beyond rifle builds, Brad offers a complete range of gunsmithing services: firearm repair, professional cleaning, scope mounting, and Cerakote application. Based in Powell, Wyoming, Bighorn Precision serves customers nationwide.

Every build is test-fired and documented before delivery. Level 1: 1 MOA. Level 2: 3/4 MOA. Level 3 and 4: 1/2 MOA. The target comes with the rifle.

Precision means the rifle performs to spec - measured, verified, and documented. Attention to detail means no step is skipped and no component is "good enough." Customer satisfaction means the rifle you receive is the rifle you asked for, and if something is not right, it gets made right before it leaves the shop.
There is one thing that separates Bighorn Precision from most custom shops: communication. Brad has heard too many stories of builders who go silent after taking a deposit. At Bighorn Precision, you get honest timelines upfront, updates as the build progresses, and direct access to the person doing the work. Every time.
This is a small shop by design. The goal is not volume - it is quality. The Bighorn Basin is the backdrop. Wyoming craftsmanship, built for people who take accuracy seriously.
